Carelink

Welcome

Carelink provides professional support and care services for adults who have experienced abuse perpetrated by Catholic clergy and other individuals appointed by Catholic church entities.

We acknowledge and express our deep sorrow for the betrayal and hurt caused by abuse in all its forms. The Church’s neglect of the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of children, young people and adults conflicts with its mission of love and care for the innocent and vulnerable.

The impact of abuse can be devastating, complex and profound both on the individual, their loved ones and the community. In recognition of this, Carelink provides a wellbeing model of support underpinned by Trauma-Informed Care and Practice to adults who have experienced abuse in addition to their families.

Our holistic care model is recovery focused and personalised to your individual needs. We offer a 'Care Coordination' service with professionally trained, warm and welcoming staff with a dedicated Care Coordinator allocated to each client. Our Care Coordinators can provide you with information on accessing our services and the range of funded supports on offer both internally and by connections to external professionals.  You can also find information on this site under 'support services available' or by downloading our comprehensive framework.

Drop in morning tea

We welcome you to our safe space at Carelink for our drop in morning tea. Our clients enjoy meeting one another and our team face to face over a cup of tea and some cake.

Family & Relationship Counselling

Traumatic events can impact on our relationships both as partners and parents. Support is available to access family or relationship counselling.

Complementary Services

Growing research suggests trauma can impact the body in physical ways. Our holistic framework supports funding each year towards adjunctive services as part of your treatment plan.

Individual Counselling for family members

We know that abuse can impact on others who are supporting us. Sometimes it can help to have a place where our individual family members can talk this through with someone

Support through the Melbourne Response Model

Our Care Coordinators can provide support through the Melbourne Response model by facilitating a funded medico-legal assessment with a private psychiatrist in addition to other supports

Care Coordination

Service

Once you become a client of Carelink, you will be allocated a Care Coordinator as a one point of contact in facilitating your funded support services.

Other individualised supports

We offer a full range of supports for those who may be experiencing significant impacts of their abuse. This may include funding psychiatric supports and medications
